Racketeering. Loan Sharking. Money Laundering. Fraud. Intimidation. Theft.

After a stint in the U.S. Army, Schiffbauer became intimate with knowledge of these sorts of activities during his time as an associate for an illegal gambling operation centered around video poker machines under the guise of “Amusement Only” from 1990-96 in Baltimore, Maryland. After a deal gone bad, he fled the business and went legit. He ran a neighborhood bar for over 20 years in Charm City and went on to write his debut novel Amusement Only loosely based on his life behind bars with writing cohort Darrian Harford Hopson.

Born in 1994, he’s a Joe Biden crime bill baby. His seven years of writing has led him through slaughterhouses across the eastern seaboard––Philadelphia, New York City and Boston––on an escapade of fiction, poetry and hard-nosed reporting. Darrian Harford has broken bread with sworn cops, avowed murderers, the drug addled and politicians alike. If he doesn’t make it telling the stories he’s heard and lived, he should be shot down dead like a wild coyote for his secrets to parish along with him. A professional with a spice of pirate, his work can be found in The Independent, Your Impossible Voice, Nailed Magazine, and other publications.
